Pubs
There are many local pubs.
The Rose and Crown, Wingrave - 30 to 40 min walk, hard pathways (5 min drive). Very good pub grub.
The Five Elms in Weedon - 2 minute drive (40 min walk), superb food, this is a special eating experience. See our review on our facebook page
The Unicorn, Cublington - 1.5 Miles, 30 to 40 min walk via public footpath through fields (5 min drive). Excellent pub grub style food. See our review on our facebook page. Currently (2025) temporarily closed whilst it seeks new owners.
The Dolphin, Stoke Hammond. - One of our favourites. Probably the best Sunday roast (the sharing platter) I have ever had. The fish platter is enormous and such good quality. A 9 mile almost traffic free bike ride. Or a 20 minute drive. See our review on our facebook page.
The Bell at Hardwick - 5 minute drive (walk through fields 1 hour 10 min)
The Black Boy in Oving - Pub grub. good food. 10 minute drive (lovely cycle route too).
The Betsey Wynne in Swanbourne - 15 minute drive (part of the Oakman Inns chain)
The Three Locks in stoke hammond - 15 minute drive (also a nice cycle route with access to the canal). (also part of Oakman Inns).
The Stag in Mentmore - 15 minute drive. A community run pub with superb food (also a lovely bike ride) Quirky interior with Singer sewing machines as tables! See our review on our facebook page.
Unfortunately the pub in our village, The Royal Oak, has now closed.
Fish N Chips
There is also a fish n chip van that comes to the village Saturday lunch times at about 13:30
And Wednesday evening at about 20:50
There are many very good restaurants and take aways in nearby Leighton Buzzard and Aylesbury plus some real gems in nearby villages. We will provide a list on your arrival.
